At-home Covid-19 PCR tests

Qured now offers Coronavirus tests in your own home. The Qured Covid-19 Antibody test package costs £119 and includes:

IgG antibody tests

Qured’s Covid-19 antibody test can identify those who have shown an immune response to the virus, once they have recovered from suspected symptoms. The antibody test is also known as a serological test. Antibody tests require a venous blood sample collected by a healthcare professional, which is then analysed by a laboratory to detect the relevant IgG antibody using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, also called an ELISA test.

Why you may need a Covid-19 antibody test and what does it mean

We recommend taking the antibody test after 14 days from exposure to the virus or the onset of symptoms. The antibody test accurately detects a person’s IgG antibody response to Covid-19: if a person tests positive for the antibody, this means they have had Covid-19. In the early days of an infection when the body’s immune response is still building, antibodies may not be detected and some people may not develop IgG antibodies even after proven infection with Covid-19 and will therefore test negative.

How does the Qured testing process work

Qured’s Covid-19 PCR Test package includes a telephone consultation with a GP if your result is positive. The doctor will call you once your results are available to discuss your reuslts and health and any symptoms or related questions that you might have.
The PCR RNA Covid-19 Test is at least 98% sensitive at detecting the presence but will not detect if you have had the virus previously and recovered. If you wish to purchase a test to determine whether or not you have had the virus previously, click here to read more and purchase our Covid-19 antibody test
Book before 3pm to have your test posted to you for next day delivery. You can also select the option to have the test couriered to you for an additional £29 if you are within the M25. If you book before 6pm, the test will be delivered to your home or business and collected on the following day, then returned to the laboratory by our courier service. This option avoids any potential postal delays and ensures timely receipt by the lab.
If you need a PCR test for travel, we can provide a medical certificate signed by one of our GPs for an additional £20. Please ensure you have checked with the airline or the destination country how soon before the flight the test needs to be done. After taking the test, it must be returned to the lab at the earliest date that can be stated on the results. Once the lab has processed your results, you will receive an SMS notifying you that they are available to view, print or share in the Qured app, along with your travel certificate (if purchased). Click here to download the Qured app for Android or iOS.

Public Health

Our diagnostic partner shares all notifiable Covid-19 results with Public Health England to contribute to national testing statistics. If the self-swab instructions are followed correctly, our laboratory partner reports a sensitivity (ability to correctly identify positive cases) of at least 98% with zero false positives reported to date and our detected positives are in line with published government figures.

FAQS

Qured offers two tests for Covid-19: a rapid PCR RNA test and an IgG antibody test. Broadly speaking, the difference between the two tests can be understood as: ‘Do I have it?’ (PCR) and ‘Have I shown a detectable IgG antibody response?’ (Antibody). Qured’s PCR test can identify Covid-19 in those who suspect they currently have the virus, from the earliest pre-symptomatic stages of the infection. Qured’s Covid-19 antibody test can identify those who develop an immune response to the virus. For more information, please see our dedicated PCR and Antibody test pages.
